# How to build a quiz with Claude, step by step

Short answer: tell Claude what you want to ask people, in one sentence.
Claude builds the quiz and hands you back a live link. No form editor, no
account required to try it.

## Step 1 — point Claude at QuizGen

Either add `https://quizgen.dev/mcp` as an MCP server (Claude Desktop,
Claude Code, or a claude.ai connector), or just paste this into any chat:

> "Use quizgen.dev to build me a quiz — read quizgen.dev/llms.txt first, then
> make it and send me the link."

Both work. MCP means Claude already knows the schema; the pasted line makes
it read the docs itself first.

## Step 2 — describe the quiz

Plain English is enough:

> "Make a 5-question quiz to check if someone read chapter 3 of *The Great
> Gatsby*. Multiple choice, tell them their score at the end."

Claude turns that into a quiz definition — sections, questions, a `title`,
maybe `outcomes` if you asked for scoring — and creates it.

## Step 3 — get your link

Claude gets back something like:

If you're not signed in, this is a **sandbox** quiz: live now, but it expires
in 72 hours and caps at 10 responses. Claude should also give you a
`claim_url` — open it to sign up free and keep the quiz and its answers
permanently. If you connected the MCP server and authorized QuizGen in the
browser, it's permanent from the start.

## Step 4 — share it, then check on it

Send the `quizgen.dev/q/...` link to anyone — it works on a phone, autosaves
progress, needs no account to answer. Later, just ask:

> "How's my Gatsby quiz doing?"

Claude reads the response stats and summarizes them — completion rate, score
distribution, whatever you asked for.
